Louise Welsh is currently the writer in residence at the University of Glasgow and Glasgow School of Art. Before becoming a full time writer, she ran a second-hand bookstore in Glasgow. She is the author of four novels as well as short stories, plays, redisplays, and an opera libretto. Her books have won a number of awards, including the Creasey Memorial Dagger and the Saltire First Book Award.
