Kate Ross
Kate Ross is the author of the Julian Kestrel mystery series, set in the Regency era. Although she wrote a very British series, Ross was an American. Ross's day job was as a lawyer; her knowledge of the law and legal history comes through most clearly in Whom The Gods Love, the third novel in the Kestrel series. The last novel in the series, The Devil in Music, won an Agatha Award for Best Novel. Ross died of cancer in 1998.
