Lucretia Grindle
Lucretia Grindle—and yes, that is indeed her given name, chosen by her circus-performer mother—is an American writer of atmospheric mysteries, the most recent of which are set in Italy at various historical moments, exploring the dark corners of Italian cities and the country's past. Her novel The Faces of Angels was nominated for an Edgar Award for Best Paperback Original. Grindle spent many years in England, but currently lives in Maine.
